Warning regarding the identity theft of Luxembourg investment fund managers

The Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) has been informed of several recent cases of fraud and identity theft involving Luxembourg investment fund managers that have established branches in Germany. In this context, unknown individuals have created fraudulent websites and issued forged financial guarantees in the name of the German branches of these managers for the purpose of committing financial fraud.

The CSSF informs the public that the companies in question are not involved in these activities, which are being carried out solely by third parties without their consent and are fraudulent.

Consequently, the CSSF urges both financial sector professionals and the public to remain vigilant and to carry out the necessary checks to verify the authenticity of any communications, solicitations or documents purporting to originate from the German branches of Luxembourg investment fund managers.
